Last updated: October 20, 2026
At Monteros Expedition we respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit monterosexpedition.com or contact us, what we use it for and what your rights are, in accordance with Peru's Personal Data Protection Law No. 29733 and its regulations.
1. Data controller

2. Data we collect
- Booking form: name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, travel date and the tour you are interested in.
- WhatsApp and email: any information you choose to send us (for example, number of travelers, dates, dietary preferences).
- Ancestral retreats: before a retreat we ask about your health and medication to keep you safe. This is sensitive data: we only request it with your explicit consent and it is only used by the team caring for you.
- Technical data: like any website, our server logs basic connection data (IP address, browser, date and time) for security.
3. How we use your data
- To answer your questions and prepare your quote.
- To manage your booking: transfers, lodging, meals and guides.
- To look after your health and safety during the trip and retreats.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell or rent your data. We will not send you marketing without your permission.
4. Legal basis
We process your data because you provide it to request information or book (consent and performance of the service you request) and to comply with legal obligations. Health data is processed only with your explicit consent.
5. Who we share your data with
- Trip providers that make your tour possible (lodge, river transport, guides), only what is necessary.
- Hostinger, the company that hosts our website and booking-request database. Its servers may be located outside Peru, which may involve an international data transfer with the safeguards required by law.
- WhatsApp (Meta), when you choose to contact us that way.
- Authorities, only when required by law.
6. Cookies and third-party services
Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It only uses a technical session cookie needed for the site to work, which is deleted when you close your browser.
To display fonts and icons we load resources from Google Fonts and cdnjs (Cloudflare); when doing so, your browser shares your IP address with those services. Links to TripAdvisor, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as needed to handle your inquiry or trip, and afterwards for the periods required by law (for example, tax law). Inquiries that do not result in a booking are deleted once no longer needed.
8. Your rights
You can exercise at any time your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and objection (ARCO rights) and withdraw your consent. Email us at info@monterosexpedition.com with your name and request; we will reply within the time limits set by law.
If you believe we did not handle your request properly, you can file a complaint with Peru's National Authority for Personal Data Protection (Ministry of Justice and Human Rights).
9. Security
We protect your data with an encrypted connection (HTTPS), restricted access to the admin panel and backups. No system is 100% foolproof, but we take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access.
10. Minors
Our services are intended for adults. If a minor travels with their family, their data is provided by their parent or guardian.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of this page.
